Kimberly Ahern

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Ahern,
Middle School Counselor

School counselors play an important role in the education system. Whether it is helping your children navigate the social landscape at school, or helping them manage the stressors that come with their academic lives, the school counselor can provide the necessary supports needed. During these unprecedented times, it's important that we help our students navigate the world around them. While we often can't control events around us, we can learn ways to better manage the challenges that we encounter.

As a licensed mental health professional, I address students' needs through the implementation of a comprehensive, standards-based school counseling program. My goals include differentiating student needs by paying attention to age-specific and developmental stages of student growth.

I work with all students, including those who are considered at-risk and those with special needs. As your child's school counselor, I will provide assistance through four primary interventions:

1. Counseling (individual and group)

2. Large group/classroom presentations

3. Consultation

4. Coordination

Middle school presents its own unique challenges to the learning process. Students are faced with unprecedented stressors that challenge their academic success. Luckily, resources are available to parents and students to manage these stressors and increase the likelihood of overall wellbeing. Check out these sites for more information:
